PUBLIC HEARING ON JOHN OSBORN HOMESTEAD MARCH 19TH, 6:00 PM
Wainscott Heritage Project was formed in 2021 by a small group of concerned citizens resolved to preserve the history and cultural character of Wainscott.
The founding purpose to save the "Little House", which had served as tenant housing for African American farm workers at the former Strong Farm on Wainscott Hollow Road, led to a greater mission of protecting Wainscott's historic structures and significant viewsheds.
WHP aims to encourage programs that foster and maintain an appreciation for the hamlet’s traditions and sense of community.

Wainscott Heritage Project is an incorporated charitable organization recognized as tax-exempt under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3).

East Hampton Town’s $56 million acquisition of the 28-acre parcel at 66 Wainscott Main Street is a historic victory.
But as the Town Board finalizes the Management Plan, Wainscott Heritage Project (WHP) is concerned that the current draft risks the very "Open Space" and "Historic Places" which this site was bought to protect.
